Basement Waterproofing Stittsville

Local basement waterproofing and foundation drainage for Stittsville homeowners. Free inspection, honest diagnosis, same-day response.

Wet basements in Stittsville? You’re not alone.

Stittsville grew from a small village into one of Ottawa’s largest west-end communities and most of its homes, across Fairwinds, Jackson Trails, Wyldewood and the newer subdivisions off Fernbank and Robert Grant, went up during the 1990s, 2000s and 2010s. That mix means two very different basement-water problems: settling backfill around younger foundations and aging drainage under the older homes along Stittsville Main Street.

Like much of the Ottawa region, Stittsville sits on pockets of Champlain Sea “Leda” clay and several neighbourhoods drain toward Poole Creek and the surrounding wetlands. The result is a high spring water table on low-lying streets and soil that swells when wet, a classic setup for settlement cracks and seepage, especially in newer subdivisions where compacted backfill is still settling around the foundation.

What we see most in Stittsville

  • Settlement and hairline cracks in 5–20-year-old poured foundations
  • Spring-melt seepage on lower-lying streets near Poole Creek
  • Aging or clogged weeping tile under older village-core homes

Close to Stittsville Main Street, the Goulbourn Recreation Complex, Poole Creek and the wider Stittsville area, if your basement takes on water, we’ll find the source and stop it.

It’s not only waterproofing, we also handle foundation repair in Stittsville: leaking cracks, bowing walls and settlement, common where Ottawa’s Leda clay shifts with the seasons.

Jackson Trails two-storey, leaking settlement crack

A newer two-storey in Jackson Trails developed a vertical crack that wept during spring rain as the backfill around the foundation kept settling. Rather than excavate, we sealed it from inside with a low-pressure polyurethane injection that flexes with the concrete, then regraded the adjacent bed to slope water away.

FAQ

Basement waterproofing in Stittsville, FAQs

Do you do foundation repair in Stittsville?

Yes, settlement cracks in Stittsville’s newer subdivisions are one of our most common calls and we also repair and waterproof the older foundations around the village core. A free inspection tells you whether it’s a quick crack repair or something structural.

Why do Stittsville basements leak?

Two reasons: newer homes sit on backfill that keeps settling for years, opening cracks that weep in heavy rain; and pockets of Leda clay plus drainage toward Poole Creek create a high spring water table that pushes moisture against foundation walls.

Do I need a sump pump in Stittsville?

Often, yes, especially on lower-lying streets near Poole Creek where the seasonal water table is high. An interior drainage system with a sump pump and battery backup is the reliable fix; we size it to your home’s water volume.
